Great degen N/Me build PvP
I thought up some great degen build for PvP necros.
Skills:
fragility
phantom pain
shatter delusion
virulence
conjure phantasm
leech signet
inspire enchantments
rez signet
This is how it works,
First I cast fragility on a victim which causes dmg when a foe gets or recovers from a condition. Then I cast phantom pain on it which I imediatly remove whit shatter delusion to put a deep wound on the victom which now has 20% les max healt and 20% less benefit from healing. This is the best condition to start virulence whit. Whit virulence u put poison, disease and weakness on the foe. now it has a healt regeneration of 8. Now I cast conjure phantasm on the victim to decrease the benefit of an eventual healing breeze on the foe. I use leech signet to interupt healing breeze, troll unguent or other healing skills that the target can use. I use inspired enchantments to remove a healing breeze or mending from the victim.
If you put the skill levels good, you get a degeneration of 13 for about 15 secs.
This build is very effective to gain faction in random arena or team arena. Monk have their hands full to keep the victim alive or cant even keep it alive.
The best way to play it is together whit a mesmer that shuts down the monk so that it cant use mend ailment.
If you guys know a way to improve this build, feel free to give your opinion!

degen maxes out at 10. you can stack hexes but 10 is the max at one time.

True, but I don't think it's cause to shout him down. 13 isn't a great deal of overkill, nothing like those ridonkulous people who come in here thinking Life Transfer is teh bawm. If somebody tries to cancel his degen, he can be all "haw," and he's still got room for other stuff. My gf, who understands this game better than me, doesn't like the fragility/virulence combo, but I can't for the life of me remember why, so I guess wait 'til she gets here.

I know 10 pips is the max degeneration, but if I have a virtual 13 pips degen a healing breeze of +8 still results in a 5 pips degen on the foe.
Anyway, the combination of a deep wound, fragility and virulence still does lots of dmg. Especially because I can remove healing breeze and mending. Fragility does 17 dmg per condition, that makes 4x17= 68 dmg + dmg for removed conditions.

good use of virtual degen
Clever idea with the -13 degen. The -10 degen cutoff is irrelevant, a proper monk will see this massive degen and go 'K, breeze will ease that up *click*' and see theres still -3 to -2 degen going on, a shatter enchantment or so removes that and effectively costs the monk a valuable 10 nrg for ZERO effect - and a further 10 to re-breeze (if he's silly) or 5 if hes realised whats going on.
The process ruins a warrior and worries a monk at the same time - all very handy

A 'proper' Monk probably won't be carrying Healing Breeze.

Virulence is just helping the monk. The more condition stacked on a single character, the more health gained from Mend Ailment.

Well, Fragility is covered by Phantasm, and removing the conditions causes it to go off. Okay, it's only 17 damage per condition, but it does help to mitigate the healing, especially with Deep Wound on and covered by 3 others.
On the other hand, Martyr is getting more popular these days, and that's only 68 damage at one time, and the loss of all that degen. Pretty much owns this build.

This build is far more efficient with mesmer primary, you wont need death to high as you want fragillity to trigger twice upon virulence and be capable to recast it for new acquisition/loss after recharge. The fast casting, fragillity and inspiration skills are far more essential in this build. Also remember that disease mitigates over your party as well without a proper counter.
